Dr. Phuchiwan Suriyawong
Environmental Scientist & Atmospheric Research Expert
Leading researcher in atmospheric science and air pollution monitoring. Specializing in PM2.5 sensor technology, biomass burning pollution, and environmental policy development across Southeast Asia.
About Me
I'm a dedicated environmental scientist with expertise in atmospheric science and air pollution research. My work focuses on developing innovative solutions for air quality monitoring and environmental policy.
My Research Journey
My journey in environmental science began with a PhD in Environmental Science from Chiang Mai University, building on a foundation in biology. This interdisciplinary background allows me to approach environmental challenges from both technical and ecological perspectives.
My research focuses on atmospheric science, particularly the characterization of fine particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM0.1) and their health impacts. I've led groundbreaking work on the DustBoy sensor network, developing calibration equations that significantly improve the accuracy of low-cost air quality sensors.
Currently serving as Assistant Professor at Kanazawa University, Japan, while maintaining research collaborations at Chiang Mai University, I continue to bridge academic research with practical environmental solutions for Southeast Asia.
